Billerica Public Schools

Department of World Languages

Preparing our students to be lifelong language learners

\

The Billerica Department of World Languages offers instruction in French and Spanish at the middle school level and in German, Italian, French and Spanish at the high school level. Students are able to pursue five or more phases in French or Spanish and four or more phases in German or Italian. The program is performance-based with students working towards proficiency on specific language functions. The goal of the department is that all Billerica students will be able to communicate in a language other than English when they exit the system.

The sum of human wisdom is not contained in any one language
