To achieve its purpose, the P.T.O. sponsors a broad spectrum of activities. The P.T.O.:
* Brings programs by outside educational groups and cultural performers to the school.
* Sponsors assemblies and social events for the school community.
* Organize volunteers for enhancement of the school's physical environment.
* Provide funds for a variety of classroom projects, library programs, school equipment, and technology needs.
To support these activities, the P.T.O. conducts a number of fundraising events each year.
Membership is open to all teachers and to all parents with students currently attending the Parker School. All parents and teachers are encouraged to join.
Membership entitles one to run for an elected position of the P.T.O. Executive Board. The Executive Board consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary/Publicity, and Treasurer. The Executive Board meets monthly with parents and teachers at an open meeting at the school to conduct the business of the P.T.O. All are welcome and invited to attend.
The P.T.O. publishes a monthly newsletter to keep the school community informed of P.T.O. activities and to solicit suggestions. A P.T.O. mailbox is maintained in the school office and communication is encouraged.
