New York Public Library Digital Picture Collection Divided into seven main categories;Arts and Literature, Cities and Buildings, Culture and Society, History and Geography, Industry and Technology, Nature and Science, and Printing and Graphics;with each category subdivided into smaller, more specific, picture collections. You can browse by subject or by collection, or by name, keyword, or identification number. Relatively low-resolution images for personal use can be downloaded directly from the site; high resolution files and prints for personal or commercial use can be ordered through NYPL's permissions department.
